Red on red. In the ELLE frames the clutch is carried low in one hand against a red ostrich feather coat, the gold snake handle looped over the fingers, a long black coat opening onto a red printed lining behind it. In the full length frame it is held in front, the croc texture catching the light against a plain stone wall. The clutch is the smallest thing in the picture and the first thing you see.

The story was styled and art directed by Stela Plaka, who also styled the Numéro Switzerland editorial where this same red clutch first appeared in June. Two magazines, one stylist, one bag pulled twice.

David Assil on the Lining, the Strap and the Collaboration

The tannery made it specifically for us. The strap so you can wear it crossbody. And again, it's the colors of the lining. I just love the color of the lining.

This is a collaboration that I'm doing with Designing Hollywood. Marilyn Vance, who is an icon in the movie business. So I'm doing a little croc bag collection and also croc heel pumps that are also coming, which I'll share down the road. So things are starting to tie together and I'm really excited about this.
